Welcome to the
Northern Chateau

Who:
The concept of NorthernChateau.com and GotSnowCams.com was dreamed up and executed by Paul Francia, a mechanical engineer from Rochester, New York.
What:
The main purpose of NorthernChateau.com and Gotsnowcams.com is to help those mostly interested in snowmobiling and winter fun. Northernchateau.com webcams are all on the Tug Hill Plateau. This area is well known for high snowfall and lake effect snow. Lake Effect snow can be very selective and narrow banded, so accurately predicting snowfall on the Hill is difficult. A 24/7 web cam was put together allowing anyone view the weather in real time, making it possible to see what's really happening.
Where:
The web cams and what we call "The Cottage" is located in Worth, New York. 43°46.337' N 75°49.055 W @ approximate 1581' elevation, and faces North. It is in an area of New York know as The Tug Hill Plateau. "The Hill", as most will refer to it, is located in Jefferson and Lewis counties and is approximately 12,000 acres of predominately state forest land. It has over 600 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.
When:
The web cam www.NorthernChateau.camarades.com was tested and put online late in October, 2001. A year later, after 3 IP changes, numerous upgrades, and improvement, the web cam has been online over 97% of the time. The web page www.NorthernChateau.com was put online late February, 2003 and will be used to provide additional information.
